The Yungay Neighborhood Free Tour begins at the Museum of Memory and Human Rights, a space that honors the victims of the military dictatorship in Chile. After this, you will walk through the passages and streets to admire the architecture of the place. Here you will see old houses where prominent people lived. Among them, there is the French Hairdresser's, a place with more than a century of history, and the house of Ignacio Domeyko Ancuta, the Polish scientist who made great contributions to the geology and mineralogy of Chile. Later, in Yungay Square, the heart of the neighborhood, you will be able to see the statue of Roto Chileno, a tribute to the Chilean working class and their bravery in the Battle of Yungay in 1839. In front of the square, there is the majestic Church of San Saturnino, inaugurated in 1887 by the architect Teodoro Burchard. Finally, you will visit the impressive Capuchin Church, built between 1853 and 1861 and located next to the Cumming subway station.
