We will leave Bogota to begin this Guatavita & Casa Loca Day Trip. During the trip to Guatavita you will be able to see the Andean mountains and enjoy impressive views. Upon arrival at the destination you will visit the sacred lagoon of the Muiscas, known for being the original inhabitants of Bogotá. According to legend, the Muiscas performed ceremonies there by throwing gold objects with precious stones into the Guatavita lagoon. However, when the Spanish found out about the ritual, many Europeans came to the place in search of gold. Today, you can go to the top of the lagoon to admire a wonderful view of the valleys that protect the area. After getting to know this beautiful lagoon, you will head to the popular attraction called La Casa Loca, a two-story building that has become famous for being built upside down. Inside you will find multiple optical illusions that will be the perfect setting for taking fun photos. Finally, you will return to Bogotá, concluding the tour.
No, beverages or food are not included in the tour, but we recommend bringing water or snacks if you wish, as it can be a long trip.
Guatavita Laggon is approximately 50 kilometers from Bogota, and the estimated travel time is 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
