We will gather at our meeting point to visit the city's most important Christian church. On our St. Mark's Basilica Guided Tour, you will take a look at the spiritual and artistic history of the city. You will take a close look at this five-domed church, originally built in 828 and rebuilt in 975 by architects and workers from Constantinople to house the relics of St. Mark, the city's patron saint. As you go along the tour, the guide will tell you about the legends and anecdotes reflected in the countless Biblical scenes painted on the walls. Also, you will have the chance to get a unique look at Venice with a panoramic view of St. Mark's Square. You will also visit St. Mark's Museum where you will see a collection of objects from the basilica and also the Horses of St. Mark, a set of four bronze horse statues that originally resembled a quadriga and are known to have been displayed at the entrance to the Hippodrome of Constantinople.
*Due to operational matter, all visitors will have to make the line to enter the monuments.
*The tour does not operate in case of exceptional high tide. In this case it can be postponed to the day after, otherwise it will be refunded.
