We will meet at the meeting point near St. Mark’s Square to begin this Guided Tour of the Doge’s Palace, residence of the Doges, the supreme rulers of the Republic of Venice from the 9th to the 18th century. During the tour, you will be able to explore the different halls and rooms in which the doge lived with his family. The building is decorated with paintings by important artists of the time, such as Titian and Tintoretto. For example, you will be able to see Il Paradiso, one of the largest paintings in the world. Also, you will be able to see the golden staircase, the Parliament, and the courtyard. You will also visit the Bridge of Sighs, one of the most famous bridges in Venice, which connects the Doge's Palace with the former Inquisition-era prison. According to legend, its name comes from the prisoners who sighed as they crossed it, thinking that it was the last time they would see the outside world. Afterwards, you can visit the Museo Correr, the Marciana Library and the National Archaeological Museum in St. Mark's Square, where the tour ends.
*Due to operational matter, all visitors will have to make the line to enter the monuments.
*The tour does not operate in case of exceptional high tide. In this case it can be postponed to the day after, otherwise it will be refunded.
