On this San José City Tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the city and discover all its historic sites. You will visit the lobby of the National Theater, a national monument built by Costa Ricans in 1897, also known as "The Jewel of San José," and the famous Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, a historical, archaeological, and cultural museum located in an underground building beneath the Plaza de la Cultura. The Pre-Columbian Gold Museum houses an extraordinary collection of gold objects, reflecting the worldview, social structure, and goldsmithing of the pre-Columbian peoples who occupied what is now Costa Rica. You will also visit the old train station, the National Liquor Factory, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the Legislative Assembly, the Metallic Building, the Central Market, and several parks. This tour will take you through different parts of the city as you learn about its culture, history, economy, politics, and other topics. The tour concludes with a workshop specialized in jewelry and gold pieces, where you will learn about the metalworking techniques used by the ancestors.
