Very early in the morning, we will gather in our meeting point. We will leave this place to begin the navigation by the Strait of Magellan, going to the place where we will make the whale watching. On the route, we will see the sunrise over Tierra del Fuego, and the Bulnes Fort as well.
In addition, we will pass by the Froward Cape, the southernmost point of the American continent, place where we will see the Cross of the Seas. We will continue the navigation by the Francisco Coloane Sea Park, where we will watch humpback whales, Magellan penguins, cormorants, albatrosses, sea lions and, sometimes, group of orcas.
We will also have the possibility of visiting the Frozen Glacier, located on Santa Inés Island. Then, we will have time to enjoy the box lunch, before returning to the city of Punta Arenas. In total, we will be navigating around 10 hours.
*While it is true that the season goes from December to March, the start and end of the whale watching is subject to change every year.
*In case there is no possibility to go further than Froward Cape because of weather conditions, we will make a refund of 50% of the price of the tour.
The tour is made in a catamaran with capacity for 80 passengers.
The probability of watching whales is very high, because the tour is made during summer months, only moment in the year in which these animals travel to the South Pole to feed themselves. The Francisco Coloane Marine Park, where the tour is made, has krill and small fishes, main food source of these cetacean. Nevertheless, as the animal behavior can be unpredictable, the whale watching is not completely guaranteed.
