We will pick you up at your hotel to start this Montevideo City Tour. Founded between 1724 and 1730, Montevideo preserves part of its architectural and cultural heritage. Cradle of artists and bohemians, it has museums, parks and beaches making it a unique city. The tour begins at Plaza Independencia, where the new and old Government House, Puerta de la Ciudadela and Teatro Solís are located. Then it continues through the Plaza Matriz, the Montevideo Cathedral, the Cabildo and Fuente de Agua. You will visit the Mercado del Puerto (Port Market), where the largest gastronomic center in the city is located. You can also walk along 18 de Julio Avenue until you reach the Legislative Palace, symbol of the city. Then you will visit the Agricultural Market, considered a National Historical Monument. From there you will go to the Estadio Centenario, a monument of world football, since the first World Cup was held there in 1930. Finally, you will visit the Carrasco neighborhood at the last stop of the tour and then you will return to the center of the city along the Rambla of Montevideo.
