We will pick you up at your hotel in Montevideo to start this Colonia Day Trip, with which you can discover this wonderful colonial city, declared a Historical Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Leaving the city, you will cross the Bridge over the Santa Lucía River and enter the department of San José, a city founded in 1783 by Spanish immigrants who arrived in the country from the province of León. On the way to Colonia, you will make a stop at Granja Arenas, where you can visit the Pencil Museum and tour the collection found there, and you can also try different traditional sweets. Upon arriving in Colonia del Sacramento you will visit the Real de San Carlos, the Plaza de Toros (Bullring) and you will have a panoramic view of the Río de la Plata and its beaches. Then you will visit the old town of Colonia del Sacramento, where you will learn about this Portuguese city through a historical walking tour visiting the Portón de Campo, the Wall, Calle de los Suspiros (Street of Sighs), the Lighthouse, the Plaza Mayor and the Basilica of the Holy Sacrament. After this tour, you will have free time to have lunch and walk around the city on your own. Finally you will return to Montevideo, ending the activity.
