We will pick you up at your lodging to depart Mendoza early in the morning. We will take national route 7 for this Aconcagua Trekking tour, which connects with Chile through the Los Libertadores international pass. Along the route we will be able to see the mountain landscape that is typical of the Andes Cordillera until arriving at the starting point of the hike. Once we begin the trek, we will start to feel our bodies’ reaction to the altitude here. We will pass by Horcones Lagoon located at an altitude of 2,950 meters (9,678 feet) and then continue on to the hanging bridge over the Horcones River. Then, we will visit the Durazno Gorge, where we will be able to stop for a bit to rest and take pictures.
After this, we will continue on for another 4 hours until the Confluence campsite, located at an altitude of 3,400 meters (11,155 feet), which is the first campsite on the route that ends at the top of Mount Aconcagua. We will be able to rest and eat lunch here and then tour the surroundings to learn about the way of life during the season and meet some people who work here. After this moment and recovering a bit of our energy, we will start the return trip back to our vehicle to return to Mendoza to end the activity.
