We will go to the province of Azilal, 150 kilometers from Marrakech, to start this Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip. These waterfalls, whose impressive cascades drop over 100 meters, are located high in the Middle Atlas, the mountain range that stretches across Morocco, and are one of the most visited attractions in the country. Ouzoud is a Berber word that means “olive” and refers to the nearby olive trees that shade the path that leads to the bottom of the waterfalls. Once in the area, you can freely enjoy the waterfalls and their surroundings, where you can see green valleys, mills, fields of peaches, figs and olive trees and the beautiful gorges of The El Abid River. You can also swim in its refreshing waters. As an alternative to walking, you can enter the town of Tanaghmeilt from where you can take a ferry to return. There are also a variety of restaurants located around the river where you can taste the most traditional Moroccan dishes.
