We will meet in the meeting point to start a trip outside the Spanish capital and begin this Toledo Half Day Trip. Depending on you taking the AM or PM tour, you will have an exclusive tour in his city that has more than 2000 years of history and that once was the capital of Spain.
If you take the tour during the morning, you will be able to tour the old streets and discover the mixture of the three cultures on which society laid his foundation: Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. You will arrive to the Toledo Cathedral, built during the 13th century over an old mosque, today considered one of the most important gothic cathedrals in Spain. The guide will give some explanations about the facade and the great bell tower before going inside and visiting the interior and the sacristy that has several works of art, some of El Greco among them. Then, you will have some free time to go over the streets on your own before returning to Madrid.
If you take the tour during the afternoon, you will be able to tour the courtyards of the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery, built with the patronage of the Queen Elizabeth of Castile, most important building made by the Catholic Monarchs. Then, you will walk to the San María la Blanca Church, which originally was a synagogue, but after 211 years was claimed by the Christians and turned into a church. Today is a museum of Mudejar art that you will be able to visit, besides admiring the art in it. In addition, you will visit the Santo Tomé Church, where is located the famous painting El entierro del Conde de Orgaz (The Burial of the Count of Orgaz), of El Greco who lived in Toledo between 16th and 17th centuries. You will end the guided walking tour in front of the Toledo Cathedral, after what you will have some time to tour on your own before going back to Madrid, where the activity ends.
