We will meet in our meeting point to start this tour outside Madrid, to the south to start this Toledo Day Trip. This old city that once was the capital of Spain, or better the "imperial city", because it was the seat of King Charles I of Spain, was declared World Heritage and has a particular mixture of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian cultures. During the walking tour by the city, you will visit the San Juan de los Reyes Monastery, built with the patronage of Queen Elizabeth of Castile, and that was the most important building made by the Catholic Monarchs. Then, you will visit the Santa María la Blanca Church, which originally was a synagogue, and today is a museum of Mudejar art. In addition, you will visit places where you can find paintings of El Greco, who lived in Toledo, where still is preserved part of his work. Then, you will know the mosque that today is called Cristo de la Luz, the better preserved of the ten that once had the city.
Here you will have time for lunch, in case you added the corresponding optional service, or you will have 1 hour and a half for lunch where you want, and tour on your own the streets around. After that, you will meet again with the guide and the rest of the group to visit the Toledo Cathedral, one of the most important gothic cathedrals in Spain. You will see the stained-glass windows decorating the nave and you will have access to the more than ten paintings of El Greco that are there permanently. Once in the bus, you will have a short panoramic tour by Toledo to the Valle Lookout Point, ending the experience to return to Madrid where the activity ends.
