We will meet at the meeting point to begin this unforgettable experience in the Portuguese capital. Our Lisbon Ribeira Tour and Belém Boat Cruise will give you a look at the most interesting sites in this ancient European city. You will visit teh Ribeira market, internationally known as Time Out Market, and the Rua Rosa, which is now the city’s most visited and colorful street but was formerly the site of fishermen’s taverns and brothels in the Cais do Sodré neighborhood. As you go along you will see the ancient squares and alleys of these neighborhoods in the part of the city that borders the Tagus River estuary. The guide will tell you about the traditional architecture of this part of the city, as well as the old shipyards and arsenal of the Portuguese Navy where the Age of Discovery began.
Afterwards, you will embark on a one-of-a-kind experience: a cruise on the Tagus River. In this 1-hour activity, you will travel 7 kilometers and pass by key monuments such as the Cristo Rei and the 25 de Abril Bridge. In the neighborhood of Belém, you will see the Monument of the Discoveries from the river, a unique perspective that few have access to. You will disembark near the museums and take in the sights of the Palace of Ajuda and the Belém Palace (Presidential Palace). Next, you will stroll through Praça Alfonso Alburquerque and Rua Vieira Portuense. Our last stop on the tour is at the country’s most famous bakery, where the famous Pastéis de Belém are made using a secret recipe from the Jerónimos Monastery, just like they have been since 1837.
