Itinerary
Remenber that this tour starts in Rurrenabaque, so you have to consider the transportation from La Paz to Rurrenabaque to the beginning of the activity.
Let's go for an excursion with this Madidi National Park tour of 3 days, which will give us access to landscapes that we are not used to for sure, with tracks inside the Bolivian Amazon jungle that will allow us to know the spectacular flora and fauna, and have explanations of our expert guides.
Day 1:
- We will begin the tour at 9:00 am, traveling by a 4x4 jeep from Rurrenabaque to Santa Rosa.
- During the trip, maybe we can see herons, sloths and abundant flora, typical from the pampas of the Bolivian Amazon.
- In Santa Rosa, we will have lunch, and then, we will take a boat for 3 hours and a half by the Yacuma River to the Bibosi camp.
- In the way, we will see turtles, alligators and frogs, besides monkeys, capybaras, kingfishers, jabirus, hawks and eagles.
- Once in the camp, we will get installed and have a snack.
- After that, we will make a 1 hour and a half trek to look the sunset.
- Back in the camp, we will have a buffet dinner.
- After dinner, we will go out sailing by the river for 1 hour and a half, searching for alligators and anacondas; we will see the reflected light in the eyes of these animals in the dark.
- Back to the camp for resting.
Day 2:
- Breakfast.
- We will make a trek through the pampas until reaching an area of small rivers and lakes.
- After, we will make some bird watching, trying to localize eagles looking for food.
- Also, we will have access to varied tropical vegetation, like orchids.
- Here we will have some time for resting and having lunch.
- We will sail by the river to keep in touch with the Amazon nature and see freshwater dolphins that we will be able to swim with.
- If there is a fan of fishing among the group, he or she will have the opportunity to fish piranhas.
- Back to the camp for dinner and resting.
Day 3:
- We will get up at 5:30 am to make bird watching.
- Then, we will navigate for 1 hour and a half to see the sunrise.
- We will have the possibility to see a lot of birds that inhabit the area.
- After that, we will have breakfast and navigate the Yacuma River once more to reach a group of wooded islands where it is possible to find geese, red and blue macaws, toucans, alligators and sloths, among other animals.
- Lunch.
- After lunch, we will arrange our things to go back to Santa Rosa.
- Once there, we will take a 4x4 to return to Rurrenabaque at 4:00 pm.
