Itinerary
Day 1: Iquitos – Muyuna Lodge – Sapote Lagoon.
We will pick you up at your accommodation, or at the airport in case your flight arrives when the tour starts. We will go to the pier, where you must take the boat that will take you to the Muyuna Lodge. You will arrive there at lunch, after what you will have some time to rest and tour the surroundings of the lodge, where you will be able to see the varied flora and fauna of the place, even the pygmy marmoset, if you are lucky enough. After that, you will go to the sapote Lagoon to see the sunset. Then, you will have dinner and a nighttime navigation to identify alligators and other night animals.
Day 2: Amazon River – Corriente & Purura Lagoons – San Juan de Yanayacu.
You will have breakfast early in the morning to leave in the boat through the Amazon River, the longest and mightiest in the world. There, besides watching the landscapes, you will swim with pink and grey dolphins. After that, you will visit a place where you can see the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. Before going back to the lodge, you will see iguanas. Later, you will enjoy lunch, and then is organized a navigation to go fishing piranhas in Corriente & Purura lagoons. Then, you will visit San Juan de Yanayacu, town that's on the Yanayacu riverbank, one of the many tributaries of the Amazon River.
Day 3: Juanachi or Moena Lagoon.
After breakfast, you will take the boat to go whether it be to the Juanachi Lagoon or the Moena Lagoon, depending on the day's choice. Anyway, whatever you visit it will be possible to identify different species of birds and monkeys that inhabit there. Then, you will come back to the lodge for lunch and a little break, before starting an interesting tour about medicinal plants that you can find in this region. Subsequently, you will have dinner and then a canoe ride to listen the different sounds of the night jungle.
Day 4: Tipashiro or Vacapoza Expedition.
You will get up early for breakfast, after what you will start a full day expedition to Tipashiro or Vacapoza, places where you can see different animal species, like sloths and monkeys, besides finding the anaconda if you are lucky. In a suitable place inside this jungle, you will have a picnic lunch before returning to the lodge to rest. At night, you will have dinner and a nighttime activity of free choice before going to sleep.
Day 5: Casha Lagoon – Iquitos.
You will have breakfast early in the morning, so then you start the navigation to the hard-to-reach Casha Lagoon. In that place you will have access to the landscape, besides watching different animals that inhabit the place. You will be able to identify them thanks to the guide. After that, you will go back to the lodge, where you will have the last lunch of the tour, before collecting your things and start the return to Iquitos, where the activity ends.
