Itinerary
Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga.
We will gather early at our meeting point to start this Merzouga Desert Trip. First you will pass through Ifrane, a small city located in the Middle Atlas, known as "Little Switzerland" , then through Azrou, where you can see the Moroccan monkeys climbing the trees. Then you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Middle Atlas Mountains on your way to the desert. You will have lunch in the wonderful city of Midelt. Then you will cross the Tizi Ntelghomt Pass, to continue the journey in the middle of the green hills until you reach the Ziz Gorges. You will pass through Erfoud, a city located in the southeast of Morocco, between the final foothills of the valley, surrounded by orchards and the impressive dune desert. This place is also known for the date festival and fossil manufacturing. Once at Merzouga a camel will transport you to the camp in the desert. Along the way you will see the gigantic Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy the stunning sunset view. You will enjoy a Moroccan dinner and a drum show at the camp before going to sleep.
Day 2: Merzouga - Fez.
You will wake up at dawn to appreciate the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast you will begin your way back, and you will ride the camel again. You will pass through the palm grove of Tafilalet and Rissani, and several other villages until you get back to Fez.
