We will meet in the meeting point to start the tour through this Intangible Heritage of Humanity, due to their condition of spaces for peaceful coexistence of the human beings. The Cordoba Courtyards tour will take you to know these spaces maintained by centuries. You will know the history, because it is known that the domus of Roman times kept the courtyard in the center of the house and was decorated with gardens, fountains, and mosaics. Then, in Andalusia times, the interior courtyards became even more important, because life was made inside the house. This made that the courtyards have pools and access to small canals, so these were transformed into true orchards that besides helped with the lighting and ventilation, essential during summertime to face the high temperatures. You will know some iconic courtyards, like the one in the Casa de las Campanas (bell's house), for example. In addition, when you go from one house to another, you will see the old streets and squares that formed these typical neighborhoods of Cordoba.
*From November to February the start time is subject to when the courtyards are open.
