We will gather at the meeting point to board your transport out of Barcelona to make this Half-Day Excursion to Montserrat. The Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat is located on the mountain of Montserrat, north of Barcelona, where legend has it that the Virgin Mary appeared in one of the caves. Today, this cave is known as Santa Cova, and has the image of the Virgin Mary carved in wood. You will ride up to the site on the rack railway, where you will be able to admire the surrounding scenery, or you can go up by cable car (optional service). You will also be able to enjoy a liqueur tasting, a guided tour, and access to La Moreneta, a statue of the Virgin Mary that has a dark color due to the varnish on the wood and the passage of time. After the guided tour, you will have free time to do some sightseeing on your own, either at the Espai Audio Visual, the market featuring traditional products and crafts, the museum, or on a hiking trail. Remember that free time is limited, so we recommend that you decide in advance and check the schedules of the available options so as not to delay your return to Barcelona, where the excursion ends.
