You will leave Athens early in the morning to begin this tour that will take you to the famous Corinth Canal, where you can make a brief stop to admire this engineering marvel that connects the Aegean and Ionian seas. Then you will arrive at Mycenae, one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. This archaeological site, located 90 km southwest of Athens, has among its most visible remains the cyclopean walls of the ruins of the Acropolis and funerary constructions, such as the so-called Treasury of Atreus. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae. You can tour this place listening to the audio guide in any of its 8 languages and thus learn more about the ancient world. You will also visit the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, a 4th century theater that is one of the best preserved classical Greek structures in existence, known for its amazing acoustics, which has a capacity for 14,000 people. Finally, you can visit the picturesque town of Nafplio, which was the first capital of Greece after its independence and which has been an important port since the Bronze Age. Here you will have time to shop, eat in a traditional restaurant or in the cafes at the port, or even visit Arvanitia beach.
