We will gather at our meeting point to start this Corinth and Canal Day Trip. The Corinth Canal is located in the Peloponnese area. This is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. The canal raised the status of Piraeus as a major port on the Mediterranean Sea. Cut through solid rock, the channel is more than 6 km long and 23 m wide, and its vertical sides rise 90 m above the water. Here you will have time to admire the canal and buy some refreshments or snacks if you want. Then you will head to ancient Corinth, a very important city in ancient and Roman times. This city is recognized for its wealth and architecture. The temple of Apollo is located here. You will be able to tour the Archaeological Site while listening to the fascinating history of this place. On the way back to Athens, you will see the beautiful coastal road and take photos at the ancient port of Cenchreae, one of the two ancient ports in the city of Corinth in Greece.
