We'll begin this northern experience from your accommodation, picking you up to start the journey by vehicle from Arica. The first stop on the Inter-valleys archaeological tour will be Cerro Sombrero, where we'll start by exploring the geoglyphs of the Great North. We'll see the Gran Llama, Trompilla, and Cerro Sagrado.
Next, we'll head to the Azapa Valley, known for its olive cultivation and production of various olive-based products. We'll also visit the Poconchile Church, which dates back to 1605, before continuing to the giant Lluta geoglyphs and the Huaylacan colcas, underground storage facilities with stone walls where the indigenous people preserved their food during pre-Hispanic times.
Lastly, we'll visit the Lluta River wetland, the main coastal wetland in northern Chile, home to various species of birds that migrate along the Pacific Ocean coast. After enjoying this natural spectacle, we'll return to the city of Arica, where the tour will conclude.
