We will gather at our meeting point to head to the Vitor Valley, where you will begin this Pisco Route. First you will visit the Hacienda del Abuelo winery where you can see the enormous jars that potters made from the 1600s to the 1700s to store grape wine and pisco. Here you will see the alembic stills, ancient devices used for the distillation of liquids through a process of evaporation by heating, and subsequent condensation by cooling, which are still used in the production of pisco. Once you have appreciated the distillation process, you will be able to access the wine and pisco tasting for an additional cost. Then you will visit the second winery of the tour, El Socabón. This winery has a long history and has the oldest jars that still exist in Peru. Here you will see a demonstration of the pisco production process and you will be able to taste its best harvests by paying an additional cost. At the end you will return to the city of Arequipa.
