We will gather at our meeting point to start this Zaanse Schans, Marken, Edam and Volendam Day Trip. A visit to Zaanse Schans will allow you to enjoy the historic windmills. You can find more than ten mills on the banks of the Zaan River and the area around them is free to access. Volendam is a typical Dutch fishing village. Here you will visit the Cheese Factory to taste delicious cheeses and, if there is time, learn how they are made. Edam is the birthplace of Edam cheese, the small, often red, ball of cheese that has reached all corners of the world. But there is much more to discover in this town that dates back to the 12th century. If you choose the all inclusive option, you can travel between Marken and Volendam by boat, on a picturesque 30-minute trip across the IJsselmeer lake. You can also tour Marken where you will notice that clogs are still made according to a centuries-old tradition with steam tools.
