The tour starts early in the morning, traveling to Cusipata where you will have breakfast. After this, you will continue the tour passing through the Yanaoca district, where you will visit the volcano pavilion. After traveling for another hour, you will arrive at the Quehue district, where the Qeswachaka Inca bridge is located, the last Inca bridge in the world. The Queswachaca or Q’eswachaka, which means “rope bridge” in Quechua, is suspended over a gorge of the Apurímac River and is rebuilt every year, following a long-standing tradition. Here you will have time to explore the area while your guide explains the history of this Quechua engineering work. After visiting the bridge, you will continue the trip to the viewpoint from where you can see the Pampamarca and Asnaqocha lagoons. Then, from another point, you can admire the Acopia and Pomacanchi lagoons. Finally, you will return to Cusipata to enjoy the buffet lunch. After this, you will return to Cusco ending the activity.
Yes, during the tour you will have the opportunity to cross the Q’eswachaka Bridge, except during its reconstruction, which lasts one week and takes place every year. Although the bridge is safe, it is recommended to cross it with caution, especially for people who are not used to walking on suspended surfaces.
Yes, Qeswachaka Bridge & Four Lagoons tour takes place all year round. During the dry season (May to October), you will enjoy clear skies and greater visibility of the landscapes. During the rainy season (November to April), the landscape becomes greener, which adds a special charm to the tour, although it is recommended to bring waterproof clothing.
