The Trevi Fountain is the great favorite of Instagrammers when they visit Rome, but let’s leave the influencer side aside and let’s get to the important thing. We know you’ll want to take a thousand photos, but please spend some time looking at this incredible work of art. Have you ever thought about what is behind the Trevi Fountain? This fountain is actually the rear façade of the Poli palace, without a doubt, it must be the most beautiful façade (back and front) in the world.
2. Roman Forum

Once at the Roman Forum, the first thing you should keep in mind is that you are going to spend a lot of time here, especially if you visit with an organized excursion, something that we totally recommend to understand the history of this place, where the social, cultural, political and economic life of the city took place 2000 years ago.
3. Palatine
![Hill with ruins of the Roman Empire in Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24051238/Palatine-Hill-e1706039482925-768x497-1.jpg)
Palatine Hill is the best-known hill in Rome, as it is the place where, according to legend, Romulus founded the city. This became a place of residence for the well-to-do classes, and Augustus later named it as an exclusive site for Roman emperors.
4. Circus Massimo

It is difficult to mention all the interesting places to see in Rome, because there are so many, but in the surroundings of the Colosseum there are also other important attractions such as the Circo Massimo, the Bocca della Verità or the Marcelo theater.
5. Pantheon of Agrippa
![Wide-angle capture inside a Pantheon in Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24055812/Panteon_de_Agripa_Roma_Italia_2022-09-15_DD_26.jpg)
One of the best preserved buildings of the Roman Empire (if not the most). This impressive construction stands out for its dome, which has a peculiarity, the circle (oculus) of 9 meters in diameter that opens in its center and through which, curiously, not a drop of water enters during rainy days.
6. Piazza Navona
![Square with tourists in the city center of Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24061204/Piazza_Navona_in_Rome_06.jpg)
Piazza Navona is a perfect place to sit and watch life go by and enjoy the Roman atmosphere, but it’s better if you do it with one of the delicious Italian ice creams in hand.
7. Sant’Angelo Bridge
![Bridge of Roman architecture in the city of Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24064826/castello-1024x491.jpg)
From Piazza Navona and crossing the Sant’Angelo bridge, you will reach the castle of the same name. This building on the banks of the Tiber River was built in the second century after Christ to serve as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian. This castle has many curiosities, such as a fortified corridor that connects it with the Vatican in case the Pope had to escape, so we recommend you visit its interior and, if possible, with a guide.
8. Trastevere
![Bohemian Quarter at Night in the City of Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24065130/italy-perfect-trastevere-at-night-1024x645.webp)
Trastevere is the bohemian neighborhood par excellence of Rome. The atmosphere here is incredible, no matter what time you go, and no one wants to miss the beauty of its streets.
9. Vatican City
![Vatican Basilica at sunset inside the city of Rome](https://denomades.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/24065351/Vatican-City-St-Peter-basilica-DP.webp)
In Vatican City there are two essential places to visit. The first is St . Peter’s Basilica, which is entered from the square itself completely free of charge; you will only have to wait for the long line that forms at this point. The second point is the Vatican Museums where Michelangelo’s great masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel, is located.
10. The Colosseum

No matter how many times you see it, the years continue to pass and this construction continues to show itself imposing to generations and generations. It has been standing since 80 A.D. and will undoubtedly be one of the most impressive monuments you will visit in your life.
